Abstract

806,054. Box pallets for handling loads. BIBBY & BARON Ltd. Oct. 23, 1956 [Dec. 30, 1955], No. 37391/55. Class 78 (4). [Also in Groups XIV and XVII] A collapsible container comprises a platform 1 mounted on apertured skids 2 and having uprights 5 connected to each corner by hinges 4, each upright being in two parts connected together by a hinge 6 and being further hinged at 7 to the corners of a top frame 8 having an arched front member 9. Brace rods 10, comprising two pivotally interconnected parts having on the upper part a sliding sleeve 11 carrying a spigot 12 to fit into a slot 13 on the lower part, are attached by one end to the hinges 6 and by the other end to the platform 1. Side pieces 16 are provided on each side of the platform 1 to prevent lateral movement of the frame when folded down; and pegs 18 fit into holes 17 in the skids of a similar container when stacked. Wall panels are made of canvas or the like, the top and front being divided into two parts held together by lacing or springs, and tension-rods pass through the top and bottom hems of the side panels.
