Abstract
937,498. Stays. E. HOLDEN & CO. (B'HAM) Ltd., and E. J. HOLDEN. June 12, 1961 [June 10, 1960], No. 20405/60. Class 65 (1). A casement stay 16 is slidably mounted on its pivot 11 and is urged by resilient means 13 into engagement with the head 113 of the pivot, the bearing eye 101 of the stay being provided with a clearance mounting relatively to the pivot which permits a limited torsional movement of the stay against the resistance afforded by the resilient means in addition to the normal pivoting movement to allow for minor inaccuracies in the setting of the pin (not shown) with which the stay co-operates. The resilient means may be a spring or a tapered sleeve of material such as rubber or nylon. The bearing eye 101 may have a shallow annular bearing surface 102 or an annular knife edge.
