Abstract

935,045. Milling. GAMBIN S.A. July 21, 1961 [July 26, 1960], No. 26596/61. Class 83 (3). A machine tool comprises a member 3 mounted for axial movement and angular adjustment about a first axis, a second member 2 adjustable about a second axis 21 normal to the first, a spindle 1 in the second member rotatable about a third axis normal to the second axis (when in position of Fig. 1), a power-driven shaft 11 coaxial with the first axis and driving the spindle through a layshaft 16, parallel to that axis, and bevel gearing 17, 19. The member 3 is composed of two sections joining on a diametral plane to allow assembly of the components therein. In a modification, the main drive shaft 11a, Fig. 6, is tubular.
