Abstract

932,747. Brackets. AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER CORPORATION OF AMERICA. May 1, 1961, No. 15684/61. Class 52 (5). [Also in Group XXV] A pipe hanger comprises pipe encircling means formed by a pair of oppositely disposed curved arms 10, 11 hingedly secured to one another and having apertured end portions 12, 13 bent at oppositely disposed angles with respect to one another to enable said apertured end portions to be placed in parallel superimposed relation, an internally threaded substantially cylindrical body member 21 having an out-turned annular flange 23 about its lower end and a secondary out-turned annular flange 22 about its upper end, the secondary flange 22 being of smaller diameter than the first flange 23, the apertures of the end portions being of different diameters, both being smaller than the diameter of the flange 23 and one being smaller than the diameter of the flange 22 and the other larger to permit the end to be engaged with and disengaged from the body members. With this construction the end of section 10 can be removed from the cylindrical member to permit the hanger to be engaged about a pipe. The cylindrical member is internally screw threaded so that it can be attached to a threaded rod. The hinge connection comprises a T-end 17 on one section and a slot 16 in the other section through which the T-end is engaged, the slot being deformed after the engagement as indicated at 20 in Fig. 6.
