930,886. Motor vehicle frames. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Nov. 3, 1961 [Nov. 5, 1960], No. 39484/61. Class 79(4). A motor vehicle chassis frame comprises longitudinal bearers 5, 6, 7 and 8, transverse bearers 2, 4, 3, 9 and 10, a torsion tube I providing a tunnel for the cardan shaft, connected to and below the-transverse bearers 2 and 4 and to the bearer 3 and extending between the bearers 2 and 3, and a continuous, V-shaped bearer 11, 12, the apex 13 of which is located below the tube 1 (Fig. 3). A transverse bearer 14 is located at the front end of the V member and an end wall 15 of the passenger space, of double construction, is connected to the longitudinal members 5 and 6 and to a U-shaped cover for the cardan shaft which extends from the tube 1. The bearer 3 is formed of two sections 17 and 18 between which is clamped the tube 1. The bottom plate 21 of the bearer 2 passes through the apex 13 of the V member, Fig. 3, and the bottom plate 41 a bearer 4 passes through the tube 1 and is stiffened by a U-shaped plate 42. The front wheels are supported from the members 11, 12 and the rear wheels from the members 7, 8 and 9.
