Abstract

922,282. Fusible cut-outs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 2, 1959 [Nov. 6, 1958], No. 35663/58. Class 38 (1). An electric fuse comprises a hollow ceramic body 10 containing a fusible element 11 which, at each end, is secured by a solder deposit 15, e.g. heated by electrodes 19, to a metal ring 14 on the body and to an inwardly directed projection 18 on an end cap 17 that is a push fit on the body. As shown, the body is filled with powdered quartz 13 and additionally contains a shunt wire 12 which is soldered at its ends to metal ring 14 as at 16. The cap has a terminal 20.
