Abstract
916,831. Gas burners. ANTARGAZ S.A. DE DISTRIBUTION DE GAZ LIQUIDES DE PETROLE. June 28, 1961 [Sept. 27, 1960], No. 23462/61. Class 75 (1). In refractory plate adapted to be heated to incandescence by a gas/air mixture burning at the outlets of passages through the plate, the passages comprise rows of inlets 32 extending into slots 36 which are narrower than the inlets. The inlets 32 either are tapered (as shown) at their discharge ends or they extend upwardly to intersect the side walls of the slots. Each slot or a pair of adjacent slots discharges into a larger slot 38 where the mixture burns. The inlets 32 may be of circular or rectangular section. Rows of passages may extend through the plate between the rows of inlets 32. The plate is mounted at the mouth of a housing supplied with a mixture of gas by an injector of the form shown in Fig. 10 and a Venturi tube. A woven wire screen is mounted in spaced relation above the plate.
