Abstract

914,742. Pipe couplings. SEAMARK, L. M. C. March 3, 1960 [Dec. 16, 1958], No. 40625/58. Class 99(1). . In the pipe coupling described and claimed in Specification 785,310, spring means are provided for positively locking the gripping members 1 and the locking ring 7 against relative rotation. As shown, there is received in a groove 20 in the ring 7 a leaf spring 22 formed with a central, depressed portion 23 and held in position by a split pin 28. The ends of the spring are arranged to ride up cam surfaces 25 on lugs 2, forming part of the clamping members 1, when the pipes are rotated relatively to the ring 7 and finally engage in shoulders 27 in the lugs. The coupling may be of metal or a plastic.
