Abstract
901,142. Valves. N.V. TOOLS Ltd. Sept. 9, 1959 [Sept. 10, 1958], No. 29018/58. Class 135. A pressure relief valve consists of a casing formed of two parts 10, 11 with a sealing-ring 12 between them and enclosing a sleeve 15 in which is mounted a spring-loaded plunger 16 having a head 16a of resilient material such as polyvinyl chloride coacting with a seat S in an inlet passage 14. The head 16a is secured to the plug by a threaded stud 17 and a nut. The plug has grooves 19 opening to a hollow interior so that fluid that has passed the valve head flows into the interior of the sleeve and then excapes through holes 15c at the outlet end of the sleeve. The sleeve is screw-threaded into the housing parts and has a hexagonal hole 15b whereby it can be turned for adjustment of the pressure exerted by the loading-spring 20. The ends of the body parts have tapped fixing holes 21, although flanges may alternatively be provided.
