Abstract

900,673. Injection-moulding machines. HEHL A., HEHL, K., and HEHL, E., [trading as ARBURG FEINGERATEFABRIK O.H.G. HEHL & SOHNE]. Oct. 19, 1959 [June 4, 1959], No. 35372/59. Class 87(2). A support for a longitudinally movable slide valve working on the excess pressure principle is secured to the heated cylinder of an injectionmoulding machine, which cylinder is movable downwardly under the pressure of a plunger; the pressure on the spring-loaded valve being adjustable by a micrometer screw in threaded engagement with the support and the spring being located away from the hot zone of the cylinder. A guide sleeve 14 carries in threaded engagement a micrometer sleeve 15, and a spring 22 is clamped between a collar 21 on slide valve 16 and the end wall of sleeve 15 which is graduated. Nozzle 13 has a bone through which valve 16 projects with its conical end into the chamber above orifice 27. The critical pressure of material passing torpedo 12 necessary to open valve 16 may thus be adjusted by movement of sleeve 15. The valve may be guided by other means, Fig. 2 (not shown), or solely by the bore in the nozzle, Fig. 3 (not shown), and a threaded adjusting screw may act directly on the spring. Specification 878,157 is referred to.
