898,938. Chains. KING Ltd., GEO. W. Oct. 11,1960 [Nov. 23, 1959], No. 39668/59. Class 24. A chain consisting of alternate single and double links 10 and 11 has joint pins 12 retained by slotted retention plates 14 applied one to each of the elements of each double link, the slots in the plates comprising a pair of oppositely directed key-hole slots in each plate. Each pin 12 is a cylinder with pairs of parallel flats at 17 for co-operation with the stems of the key-hole slots 15. Each plate 14 has projecting elements such as the kinks 16 to prevent movement of the pins lengthwise of the assembled chain. By movement of a pin 12 with its attached outer link and retention plates to the waisted central part of the appropriate inner link and rotation of the outer link through a right angle, the elements of the outer link may be closed together to allow movement of the pin past the projections 16 to the region of the eyes in the appropriate keyhole slots to release the pin.
