For chains consisting of lamellar link plates, a rocker link joint of the kind wherein a pair of pins which can roll against each other are inserted into aligned bores in the plates of adjacent links includes means to resist relative movement of the plates in a direction per- "pendicular to the plane containing the axes of the bores of successive joints. In the form of Fig. 2, this means comprises a hollow cylindrical cage 6 having peripheral apertures 7, through which the pins 1 project to engage the bores 4 of the link plates, and webs 8 which engage portions of the bores on opposite sides of the said plane. In the form of Fig. 8, the cage 11 is of uniform generally C-shaped cross section and only one of the pins directly engages the bores. In other forms (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the cage is dispensed with and its function performed by arcuate extensions if one pin which partially embrace the other pin in the same general manner as the cage of Fig. 8.
