Abstract

893,562. Cartons. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 7, 1959 [April 10, 1958], No. 11726/59. Class 18. A tapered nestable fruit carton is folded up from a blank as shown in Fig. 1, adjacent walls being connected at the corners by bending round integral tags 8 and partially punched-out strips 4 being provided at the corners (at least in the walls 2, 3) bent in to define rectangular spaces into which are introduced three-armed folded cardboard members, the arms 18 of which bear on the overlapping ends of the carton walls, and are of less height than the carton walls. A stack of cartons nesting on these corner members can be held rigid by means of cardboard connecting strips held along the corners of the stacked cartons by bending bags thereon into the openings left by the strips 4.
