Abstract

892,619. Stud and socket fastenings; screws. ACHAT, VENTES, REPRESENTATIONS S.A. July 4, 1958 [March 31, 1958], No. 21423/58. Classes 44 and 89(1). A U-shaped member 2 is secured to a second member 1 by means of fastening elements fixed on the member 1, the member 2 covering the fastening elements, parts of the inner faces of the side walls of the member 2 making intimate contact with parts of the fastening elements, the profiles of the contacting parts being complementary to each other, each fastening element being constituted by a fixing shank 6, a cylindrical body 3 a head 4, and between the head and body an annular part 5 and each inner face of the member 2 having, at a distance from its free-edge, a longitudinally extending part 10 or 11, adapted to engage the annular part 5 of each fastening element, the longitudinally extending part 10 or 11 and the part between the longitudinally extending part and the free edge of each side wall of the member 2 and the adjacent parts, when in secured position, of the body 3 and annular part 5 of each fastening element, constituting the contacting parts. As shown, the member 2 is a metal window fillet and the member 1 is part of a window frame. This annular part 5 is a groove and the longitudinally extending parts 10, 11 are ribs. In a modification however the part 5 is a rib and the parts 10, 11 are grooves.
