Abstract
889,906. Toys. DIE CASTING MACHINE TOOLS Ltd., and MILLS, A. R. May 3, 1960 [Oct. 12, 1959], No. 34473/59. Class 132(3) [Also in Group XXI] Ammunition for a toy gun comprises a cartridge case 12 with a removable bullet 15, the case being cylindrical and having a closed rear end 13, a percussive detonator cap 14 being held between the rear end 16 of the bullet and the rear end of the case, the bullet being hollow, with its front end open so as to contain a pellet 19 and with its rear end having an aperture 17 so that gases from a detonated cap in the case can force the pellet forwardly out of the bullet. The bullet has a flange 20, which co-operates with an abutment 21 in the wall of the ammunition chamber 11 of the gun to hold the cap 14 tightly against the base 13 of the cartridge case and also to retain the bullet in the chamber when the gun is fired. The bullet also has internal longitudinal ribs (not shown) to preclude the use of spherical or cylindrical objects as pellets, unless of relatively soft material such as a potato. Specification 834,743 is referred to.
