[Also in Group XX] An inspection window arrangement, e.g. for the visual observation of fluid in a pipe or of the fluid level in a container, comprises a forged steel body 1 having a cylindrical internal observation space 9 which communicates with transverse passages 4, 4<SP>1</SP> extending through two connection pieces 5, 6 e.g. for screwing or welding to a pipe line and which is closed at its ends by observation windows 12, 13 spaced by a rotatable and axially movable support 10. The window 12 is seated by means of an external nut 16 which has an inspection aperture and which can be tightened to transmit sealing pressure through the intermediary of a sealing ring 19 sandwiched between profile rings 20, 21. Additional sealing rings are arranged on each face of the windows 12, 13, the window 13 being pressed outwardly against an annular shoulder 2 on the body 1. For observation the fluid is deflected in double-S form around a nose 11 in the movable support 10. If the passages 4, 4<SP>1</SP> are arranged vertically the support 10 is correspondingly rotated through 90 degrees so that the nose 11 depends vertically.
