875,693. Binding-posts. SOC. D'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES MARECHAL. Dec. 16, 1959 [Dec. 19, 1958], No. 42741/59. Class 38 (1). A cylindrical socket 2 mounted on an insulating pedestal 1 and having a blind tapped hole 4 and a diametral slot 3 is capped by a hollow cylindrical clamping member 8 within which is wedged a U-shaped strap 14 fitting in the slot 3, a screw 5 carried by the member 8 engaging the tapped hole 4 so that wires to be connected may be clamped between the bottom of the strap 14 and the bottom of the slot 3. An elastic washer 12 is fitted under the head 13 of the screw which is held in the member 8 so that it cannot drop out, the parts 5, 8, 14 constituting a composite clamping unit.
