Abstract

863,233. Reservoir pens. FAGARD ET CIE., A. J. Jan. 30, 1959 [Aug. 4, 1958], No. 3459/59. Class 146(3). In a fountain pen comprising a rigid tube and a rubber-sheath reservoir within the tube, these two parts being fixed to a nib-supporting member, and a pressure bar for the reservoir having a lever of arcuate cross-section integral therewith which extends through an aperture in the wall of the rigid tube, the lever is completely disposed in a cavity formed in the outer face of the' tube. A nib section 1 is fitted with a supply tube 2 communicating with the nib and an ebonite connector 6 is force fitted on the rear end of the tube 2. A collapsible ink sac 7 is secured to the connector 6 as also is a metal tube 8 which encloses the sac. The tube 8 has a recessed part 18 at one side of which a longitudinal slot 22 is provided in the wall of the tube, the slot 22 extending rearwards to the open end 21 of the tube which is closed by a cap 9. The pressure bar 15 is located between the sac 7 and the tube 8 and has an arcuate lever portion 16 integral therewith which projects through the slot 22 and normally lies in the recess 18 so as to be flush with the outer surface of the tube 8. Recesses 17a, 17b in the lever portion 16 are engaged by projecting parts at one edge of the slot 22 whereby the lever can be pivoted away from the tube 8, Fig. 7, preparatory to the filling operation. The tube 8 is enclosed by a barrel 11 screwed on to the section 1.
