855,779. Electromagnetic relays. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 28, 1959 [May 8, 1958], No. 14739/58. Class 38 (5). A relay similar to the Post Office Type 600 has its L-shaped yoke 11 narrower than the core and coil assembly 10 and the contact stock 14 is offset so that an identical relay 19 may be mounted to form a compact relay pair. A number of pairs of relays may be mounted in line so that straight connections can be made between corresponding relay contacts. The fixed contacts of a stack are buffered by a comb 18 retained between springs 15, 16, which may be used in the outer contact sets, biased downward so that an insulating-pin 17 on the spring 15 engages the yoke 11. The Provisional Specification states also that a heel-piece common to a pair of relays may have oppositely-directed short limbs for securing the coil assemblies.
