Abstract

847,975. Resilient bushes. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. April 9, 1959 [Aug. 20, 1958], No. 26773/58. Class 108(3). The eye A of a leaf spring is supported on brackets D, E, by a pin H. Interposed between the eye A and the pin H are the two parts B, C, of an annular elastomeric bush. A cupshaped member F is welded to one end of the pin H and its tapering outer surface fits in a complementary hole in the bracket E. A shoulder on the opposite end of the pin H is clamped against the bracket D by a nut J. As the nut J is tightened the cup member F is drawn partly through the hole in the bracket E and the resilient bush is compressed axially. The hole in the bracket E which accommodates the cup member F is cylindrical.
