Abstract
In the manufacture of regenerated cellulose products, e.g filaments and films, from sheeted prehydrolysed sulphate chemical wood pulp by the viscose process, there is incorporated into the pulp, or into the alkali cellulose prepared therefrom at a stage prior to the completion of shredding the alkali cellulose, from 0,02 to 0,2%, based on the bone dry weight of the pulp, of a polyoxyethylene condensation product of a polyoxypropylene-ethylene diamine of the formula : <FORM:0847714/IV(a)/1> in which Pro represents a propylene oxide unit and y has an average value of 7 and Eto represents an ethylene oxide unit and x has an average value of 12. The condensation product may be added to the pulp during the formation of the pulp sheet, after formation but prior to the completion of the drying of the sheet, to the sheet after it has been formed and dried or to the alkali cellulose prior to the completion of shredding. The condensation product may be sprayed on to the entire surface area of the sheet or applied to the sheet in narrow stripes.
