Class 43 [Also in Group XXV] A sheet metal staple a, Fig. 1, for use in a hook and eye garment fastening, comprises a back 1 with at least two spikes 5 depending therefrom and a wholly- or partly-closed loop 2 integral with the back and cranked forwardly therefrom. A recessed washer 8 receives the bent-over spikes after insertion thereof through the fabric of the garment. Where the loop is partly closed, the gap 1c, Fig. 6, may accommodate a third spike extending from edge 1b before bending down. The two end spikes may be parallel with the edge la of the back.
