Abstract

842,618. Agricultural implements. BENTALL & CO. Ltd., E. H. Sept. 20, 1957 [Oct. 2, 1956], No. 30028/56. Class 6(1). A tandem disc harrow comprising a frame having the discs arranged in gangs F, F 1 , R, R 1 which are arranged in pairs in tandem, is characterized in that each gang is pivotally suspended at a point 15 adjacent to its outer end so as to be capable of a hinging movement about a vertical axis and the inner ends of each pair of gangs are attached by spring steel links 30 to a saddle 20 or 21 slidable on the frame and adjusted by means of a screwed member 22. As shown, the member 22 is provided with a handle 23 and oppositely screwed portions 24, 25 which engage screwed collars 26 in the saddles 20, 21. Scrapers (not shown) are associated with each disc. Retractable ground wheels 51 are provided and are attached to bracket arms hinged to the side members 3, 4 of the frame. When the harrow is in use the bracket arms are swung to a central position where the wheels are suspended inwardly of the frame.
