Abstract

841,012. Reservoir applicators ; cleaning carpets, rugs &c. BISSELL CARPET SWEEPER CO. May 14, 1958 [July 10, 1956; May 22, 1957], No. 15436/58. Classes 19 and 138(1). Cleaning detergent is applied to a surface to be cleaned by a sponge surfaced roller 40 mounted in a moulded body 1 by springing the body over the journals of the roller, which receives detergent from ports 9 in a conduit 6 formed in the body so as to extend parallel to and be above the roller. The detergent passes from a reservoir 18 mounted on the body through a spring valve 31 and through a passage 7 in the body into the conduit 6. The valve 31 is controlled by a wire 33 passing up through and out of the reservoir, which also serves as a handle.
