Abstract

906,814. Floor and carpet scrubbing machines; rotary brushes. ELECTROLUX CORPORATION. July 4, 1961 [July 18, 1960], No. 24070/61. Classes 19 and 138 (1). A floor or carpet scrubbing machine is supported on the surface to be cleaned by a bearing surface 70 at the lower end of a skirt 62 depending from the power unit, and the bristles of a rotary brush 60 within the skirt are sufficiently long to extend, when straight, beyond the surface 70. The brush is rotated by a turbine 20 operated by connecting a conduit 31 to a source of suction such as a vacuum cleaner. The operator feeds detergent liquid to the floor or carpet as required by pulling a cord 98 to open a valve (not shown) to permit the liquid to flow from a reservoir 72 through a conduit 88 and a nipple 90.
