Abstract
838,437. Cathode-ray tubes. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. July 20, 1956 [Aug. 1, 1955], No. 22513/56. Class 39(1). In a " flat " cathode-ray tube 22 in which the beam is projected by gun 12 along a marginal edge of a luminescent screen and deflected first vertically and then horizontally into impact with the screen, the picture is straightened up by a magnet having pole-pieces 23 on either side of the tube. A permanent or electromagnet may be used, and the pole-pieces may be spaced apart at a greater distance at one end or may vary in width from one end to the other. The magnet may be tilted with respect to the tube to obtain the proper adjustment. Specifications 794,257 and 801,841 are referred to.
