832,660. Hydraulic couplings. NELSON, G. E. April 8, 1958, No. 11074/58. Class 69 (2). A coupling has a stationary reservoir 48 and a casing 34 that rotates with the impeller 10; any liquid that escapes into the space between the casing 34 and stationary casings 18 and 44 is exhausted into reservoir 48 via a port 77 by centrifugal action. Adjustable scoop tube 40 determines the amount of liquid in chamber 36 and hence in the working chamber which chambers are connected by passages 38. Liquid may be pumped from the reservoir via port 70 and a cooler back into the working chamber via passages 55, 56, 58, 60, 64, 65.
