802,161. Centrifugal pumps. GENERAL MECHANICS, Ltd. March 9, 1956 [June 21, 1955], No. 17911/55. Class 110 (1). A pump for cement grouting or the like comprises a tubular bearing chamber 8 secured to an elongated central tubular housing 2, which in turn is secured to a pump casing 5, one or more inlets 7 being provided in the housing 2 and a lateral discharge 6 being provided in the casing 5, the pump being adapted for immersion substantially vertically in a tank 1 with the casing 5 outside the tank and the bearing chamber 8 above liquid level to protect the bearings from contact with the liquid. The impeller 10 is of the centrifugal type.
