Abstract

830,703. Forcing liquids by gaseous pressure. THERMODYN G.m.b.H. Oct. 16, 1957 [Oct. 17, 1956], No. 32282/57. Classes 8(2) and 102(2). Automatic periodic discharge of liquefied gas from a pressurized container e.g. an air rectification column 2 is effected through an overflow tube 13, a pipe 4 and an outlet tube 12 which is controlled by a differential value comprising an obturating head 15 connected by a stem 14 to a diaphragm 7 subjected at one side to the gas pressure above the liquid level 10 of the column 2 and at the other side to this same pressure plus or minus the pressure of a column of liquid H which at a predetermined value effects unseating of the valve head 15. In operation liquid air enters the column through an inlet 3, crude liquid nitrogen leaves through a duct 5 and oxygen-rich liquid is discharged in batches through ducts 13, 4, 12 and a pipe 17.
