Abstract
821,520. Forcing liquids by gaseous pressure. CHRYSLER CORPORATION. Nov. 15, 1955, No. 32701/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 102 (2). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] The fuel container of a portable flame-thrower is strengthened by tubing wound on its inner or outer surface, the container and tubing being bonded together. The container may be torroidal or cylindrical and the fuel is ejected from the container by compressed air stored in the tubing. In one embodiment, the compressed air from the tubing is applied, through a manually-operated valve, directly to the fuel chamber while in the second embodiment the air inflates a flexible vessel inside the chamber, immersed in the fuel. The manually-operated valve starts off automatically, at a predetermined face pressure and incorporates a safety release which prevents the air being stored at a pressure above a predetermined valve.
