829,414. Stays for hinged articles. MIDDLETON TOOL & ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. July 10, 1957 [July 12, 1956], No. 21566/56. Class 65(1) A stay which comprises an arm 5 pivoted at one end to a door and slidably received in an opening 16 in a fitment 12 pivotally attached to the lintel, is sprung against an upstanding pin 17 in the fitment which engages one or more holes 18 in the arm and is lifted clear of the pin by a manually operable lever 20. The arm is of rectangular cross-section and is pivoted on a bracket 1 at an angle a of approximately 89 degrees with the vertical so that its broad sides are inclined slightly downwardly. A removable screw 19 prevents the arm from being completely withdrawn from the fitment, which pivots on an attachment plate 6 and comprises two plates 13, 14, having facing depressions forming the opening 16.
