Abstract

822,645. Jet propulsion plant. SUD-AVIATION SOC. NATIONALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES. Oct. 3, 1956 [Oct. 12, 1955], No. 30180/56. Class 110 (3). [Also in Groups XII and XXXV] In Fig. 1 the supply to a pilot fuel injection manifold 60 and main fuel injection manifolds 61, 62 of an aircraft or missile ram jet engine 1 is regulated by a rotary sleeve valve 9 driven by an electric servomotor 91 under the control (see Group XXXV) of Mach meters 14 and 17 responsive to internal and external airflow respectively. The aircraft or missile is launched by auxiliary means and the fuel supply is initiated soon after launching by raising fuel pressure to burst a diaphragm (not shown). Fuel is then supplied to manifolds 60, 61 and somewhat later to manifold 62. Regulation of by-pass fuel instead of the main fuel supply is referred to. Specification 810,843, [Group XII], is referred to.
