659,793. Jet propulsion engines. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd. Sept. 14, 1944, No. 17641. Divided out of Complete Specification of 659,794. [Class 110(iii)] In a gas turbine jet propulsion engine having a variable area propelling nozzle and means to inject reheat fuel into the turbine exhaust duct, the control means of the reheat fuel and the variable area propelling nozzle are inter-related. Reheat fuel is injected into the exhaust duct 9 of a gas turbine by one or more fuel jets 12 mounted on the fairing 8. The propelling nozzle 37 is fitted with a cone 38 axial movement of which varies its area. The reheat fuel supplied by a pump 40 is controlled by a valve 31. When the valve 31 is opened, the fuel pressure acting on the piston 34 moves the cone 38.
