Abstract

822,459. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N. V., CO. April 24, 1958 [June 29, 1957], No. 13076/58. Class 6(3). In a haymaking machine of the type having oblique ground-driven rake-wheels, each rakewheel has a diameter between 50 and 100 cms. and the angle between the terminal portion 3 of each tine and a radial line 9 passing through the extreme tip 8 lies between 50 degrees and 70 degrees. The rake-wheel has a central disc 2 integral with the hub 1 and carrying bolts 5 which clamp the bent portions of wires 4 which protrude through the rim 6 to terminate in the tines 3. Each wire is between 4 and 6 mm. in diameter. The extreme tips 8 are chamfered so that they lie flat upon the ground in their lowest position.
