Abstract
821,851. Valves. LION STAMPING CO. Ltd. April 12, 1957 [April 23, 1956], No. 12430/56. Class 135. A metering valve comprises an internally-cylindrical body 3, with an inlet 16 and an outlet 22, having a flexible valve seating 18, e.g. of polyethylene, adjacent the inlet and a spindle screw-threaded at 26 to engage a corresponding thread in the body. A plain portion 28 of the spindle is an accurate fit in the bore of the cylinder intermediate the inlet and outlet and the cylinder has a helical groove 14, e.g. a continuation of the spindle actuating thread, extending from near the inlet to beyond the outlet so that when the spindle is rotated to its unseated position the liquid path through the valve includes a length of the groove depending on the axial position of the spindle. The spindle may be locked in an adjusted position by a screw 36.
