Abstract

820,113. Pipe joints. HOPKINS & SONS Ltd., G. Oct. 5, 1956 [Oct. 5, 1955], No. 28422/55. Class 99(1). Pipes A, B have flanges C, D provided with abutting faces, and one of the flanges D has an annular recess F for the reception of a resilient ring G and is received in an annular recess E of the flange C, there being means for drawing the flanges towards each other and thereby secure the pipes together. As shown, the flanges are drawn into abutment by a flanged nut J screwed on to the flange C ; alternatively, nuts and bolts, or studs screwed into one of the flanges, are used to draw the flanges together.
