Abstract

817,978. Centrifugal separators. FIAT S. p. A. Feb. 13, 1957 [Oct. 31, 1956], No. 4935/57. Class 23 An oil cleaner mounted on an extension 2b of an I.C. engine crankshaft 2 has internal diaphragms 81, 82 arranged so that oil from inlets 39d flows around the edge of the diaphragm 82, passes between the diaphragms, and is discharged through outlet 41 whilst the impurities are deposited in an annular cavity 4<SP>1</SP>. Vanes 42a are provided in the separator on the inlet side of the diaphragm. The oil is fed from a gear pump housing 38a and passes through ducts 39c, 40 to the inlets.
