Abstract
816,174. Detent mechanism. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. Sept. 12, 1957 [Aug. 17, 1956], No. 25232/56. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XXXII] An arm of resilient strip steel, e.g. for use as a detent, has at one end a pair of spaced ears with D-shaped openings which receive a mounting post of D-shaped cross-section, whereby the end portion is fixed in angular position with respect to the post. D-shaped holes 3 engage a suitably-shaped mounting post which is also gripped by the part of arm 4 opposite to flat portions 3u of holes 3. The portion 6, shaped to ride over a detent wheel, may be wider than arm 4. The displacement of arm 4 in use is such as to cause the mounting post to be gripped more tightly between flat 3a and arm 4.
