Abstract
815,712. Dry fire-extinguishing compositions. NU-SWIFT Ltd. Oct. 23, 1956 [Oct. 25, 1955], No. 30464/55. Class 47 A dry fire-extinguishing composition comprises at least 50 per cent finely divided mineral talc (preferably 50-70 per cent) admixed with dried ammonium sulphate and diammonium phosphate (30-50 per cent). The composition is preferably blended with a water proofing agent e.g. an insoluble metal stearate, and an absorbent e.g. magnesium carbonate, both finely divided. The dry powder and a pressurized inert expellant gas are stored in a container and discharged simultaneously when the outlet is opened. Specification 815,711 is referred to.
