Abstract

814,714. Vehicles equipped with conveyers. MILES Ltd., A. Aug. 15, 1955 [Aug. 13, 1954], No. 23505/54. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). [Also in Group XIV] The shelving in a delivery van 10 (Fig. 1) is formed by endless belt conveyers 16. As illustrated, each conveyer is carried by a light alloy frame which can be locked in position on suitable guides carried by the walls 13, 14 of the van body and by a central partition 15. Each conveyer comprises a pair of laterally spaced belts 33, Fig. 3, running on front and rear rollers 21, 23 and joined by spaced riveted light alloy members 25 of T-section. The conveyer is pushed round by hand and carries an end wall 34 which engages a stop 35 to limit the movement of the conveyer. The rear rollers 23 may be locked when the van is in motion. The invention may also be applied to shelving within a fixed storage space.
