Abstract

811,252. Screwing-up nuts. THOR POWER TOOL CO. March 11, 1957 [April 5, 1956], No. 7914/57. Class 83 (3). [Also in Groups XXIII and XXIV] A hand-held rotary power tool such as a wrench, screwdriver, tapper, &c., has compressed-air supplied to a pneumatic motor 23 via a reversing valve 35, on depression of a trigger 33. The motor shaft 26 is connected to a work member 39 by the inpact clutch (see Group XXIV), which includes a radially movable impact member 50, cammed out of engagement with a jaw 41 on an anvil 40 by a cam 51 on an intermediate shaft 44, when overload occurs, and then returned to the operative position by another cam 45 to impart a hammer blow to the jaw 41. The impact member 50 slides linearly between guides 60 on a rotary hammer 61.
