Abstract

807,202. Paving blocks; roads. PAVIBLOC, S. A. June 22, 1956, No. 19475/56. Classes 87(1) and 107 A concrete paving block is provided with a trapezium-section projection extending along the entire length of two adjacent side faces and with a corresponding recess in the other two side faces, both the salient and re-entrant angles being rounded as at 3, Fig. 3. The top and bottom edges of the block are rabbetted at 4, 6 respectively. A modified block 8, Fig. 6, for laying against tramway rails has one face 9 shaped to correspond with the shape of an adjacent rail 10 and to allow for rail-securing bolts 11. The length of the block 8 is equal to the distance between the sleepers 12 of the track, is that the block can be secured to the sleepers by means of plates 14 fixed to each end of its lower face. The block preferably comprises two different layers of concrete, hard stone elements being embedded in the surface of the upper layer.
