Abstract
803,339. Toothed gearing. JOHNSTON, R. H., BISHOP, R., and WHITLOCK, G. B. R. Nov. 5, 1954 [Dec. 17, 1953], No. 35228/53. Class 80 (1). An epicyclic reduction train particularly for vehicle stearing mechanism comprises stepped planets 34, 35, mounted eccentrically on a driving-shaft 7 with an eccentric portion 30, and engaging respectively a fixed annulus 12 and an annulus 28 on a member 23 secured to the driven shaft 18. The stepped planet has frustoconical extensions 33, 37 frictionally engaging corresponding internal surfaces 11, 29 on the fixed casing 2 and the driven member 23, respectively.
