Abstract

788,260. Vacuum work-holders. FEZER, A. Nov. 21, 1955 [Aug. 3, 1955], No. 33184/55. Class 60. A suction clamping device comprises at least two clamping heads 1, 2 constructed as suction and supporting plates which are pivotally arranged on a base plate 8 so as to be angularly adjustable by engagement with the work piece a locking device being provided for each head. The supporting plate 2 has an elastic sealing ring 3 and a spherical peripheral surface which allows it to be adjusted on a spherically headed pin 10 to any angular position. A slotted clamping ring 11 which may be tightened by a bolt 13 holds the plate 2 in its adjusted position. The plate 1 has a pair of sealing rings 4, 5 and is adjustable only about the axis of the shaft 7 which passes through a pair of bearings 15 and bearings 16. A clamping bolt 17 is provided for the plate 1 which is adjustably secured to a base member 19 by hook shaped bolts 21. Suction connections are provided at 6 and three supporting positions 18 are provided on each head. In a further construction, six clamping heads are provided and three of them are mounted on coil springs and arranged to be displaceable as regards height.
