782,255. Brake transmitting mechanism. SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET BROMSREGULATOR. March 20, 1956 [March 23, 1955], No. 8706/56. Class 103 (1). In an improvement in brake apparatus for railway vehicles in which the leverage may be varied by means of links 5, 6 connecting brake levers 3, 4 and in which the link 5 gives a higher and the link 6 gives a lower leverage; the latter link being connected to lever 4 through a lost motion connection, said lost motion being taken up by a movable abutnent 11 mounted in housing 9, the extension 10 of the second link 6 guides the housing 9 and is provided with two equal diameter portions (10b, 10c) of the extension 10 located to the left and right of the movable abutment 11 sliding in cylindrical portions 9b and 9c of the housing. The outer guiding portion 10c may be provided with an intermediate portion 10d of reduced diameter merely for the purpose of removing superfluous material. The outer cylindrical portion 9c of the housing 9 may be closed at its outer end 9d for preventing the ingress of dirt and moisture. Specification 426,779 is referred to.
