Abstract
1,001,320. Disc brakes. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as A. TEVES MASCHINEN UND ARMATURENFABRIK K.G.]. July 11, 1963 [Sept. 5, 1962], No. 27496/63. Heading F2E. An hydraulic and manual disc brake for motor vehicles has a yoke 6 which engages around and over the disc 7 and the pads 3, 4 guided and retained in a brake casing 2, one arm of the yoke acting on the pad 3. An hydraulic actuator 10, 11 is disposed in the brake casing and acts on one end of an operating lever 16 which can also be actuated manually by a cable 28. A lever 13 is articulated at 12 to the casing and at 15 to the lever 16 and acts via a cam-like part 14 on the pad 4. A slack adjuster 17 connects the other arm of the yoke 6 to the lever 16 through draw rod 21 and adjuster casing 20. The yoke is secured to the casing by a tension spring 23 which when uncoupled allows the yoke to be hinged aside about pivot 19 to permit the pads to be withdrawn.
