An intermittent drive of a shaft F is obtained from a continuously rotating shaft C by means of a pulley or sprocket A secured eccentrically to an arm B on shaft C and driving a pulley or sprocket E on shaft F by means of a band or chain D. The slack in the band or chain is taken up by a spring or weight-loaded rocking lever H pivoted at G and having jockey pulleys or sprockets K engaging on opposite sides of one run of the band or chain.
