765,211. Making wire; rolling. DEMAG AKT.-GES. March 24, 1952 [April 3, 1951], No. 7576/52. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Groups XI and XII] A rolling mill plant for the production of wire includes a blooming mill 1 followed by means 3, 4 which reduce the material to cross-sections at which it can be reeled, a furnace plant 5 in which the wire is reeled and wire-finishing means 6. The means 3, 4 are preceded by shears 2 for dividing the rolled material and are disposed at such a distance apart that the material can move out freely so that they are independent of each other with respect to operating speeds. A separate gas or electric furnace (see Groups XI and XII) is provided for each strand of rolled material and reeling is facilitated by a driving apparatus 18. A bending machine may also be used to reel material of a diameter up to 40 mm. The material, after re-heating, is fed in the reverse direction to the wire finishing means 6.
