[Also in Group XX] Apparatus for producing relatively large and small displacements of fluid, for use with micro-manipulators for operating microtools or used for manipulating objects under a microscope objective, comprises one piston adjusted in a cylinder by a coarse thread and a smaller piston inside the other piston and adjusted by a fine thread. A piston 3 in a cylinder 1 is moved by rotation of a member 11 carried by the top of the cylinder whereby a thread 10 engaging a thread 9 moves a rod 5 carrying the piston. A knurled portion 12 facilitates rotation of the member 11. Rotation of a cap 24 having a fine thread 28 engaging a thread on the member 11 moves the smaller piston 4 by means of a rod 6. A spring 25 takes up slack in the thread 28. A spring- pressed ball 20 engaging a groove 19 prevents rotation of the rod 5.
