Class 80(1) [Also in Group VIII] In a washing machine (see Group VIII) an endless belt 8 driven from a motor 12 by a pulley 9 and driving a pulley 10 can also drive a pulley 7 if the belt 8 is displaced against it by means of a roller 14 which is pivoted on a bell-crank lever with arms 15 and 17 and is manually displaceable by means of a Bowden cable 18. When the cable 18 is released the weight of the roller 14 and the reaction of the belt swings the roller out of engagement.
